On The Rocks – 2018 Year In Review

On The Rocks (OTR) is back. We are on a new channel, but the theme is the same. Three guys hanging out and talking photography, plus drinking a little bit of beer. Joining me in this episode is Jody Grober and Phil Gibson both of Roberts Camera in Indianapolis.

I’m sure many of you may remember visiting the old hardware store on a Saturday morning with your father. A place where you could hang out and talk about the latest tools. The idea is the same here except we are talking about all things photographic. I have partnered with Roberts Camera in Indianapolis as they are like one of those old hardware stores. You can drop on by, hang out and talk photography as well as see the latest in photo gear. The staff at Roberts is second to none, and they know their stuff, plus they love photography.
I thought it would be fun to create a video series where you can be part of the talks that I often have when visiting Roberts. We film these episodes at different locations around Indianapolis. If you are ever in Indy (as us locals call it) let us know. Leave time not only to visit Roberts but also visit the photoPXL offices, which are only a few blocks away.

We filmed this episode at the Sun King Brewery, which is always a hopping place. Our focus is a look back at 2018 and what may be ahead for 2019 as well as an announcement of the new Olympus OM-D E-M1X camera. We focus on the latest in mirrorless cameras and how they were received by photographers.

Photography is my passion and has been for5 0 plus years. My career in photography has allowed me to travel the world, meet some of the most interesting people on the planet and see things I could never have dreamed of. My goal is to share the passion of picture taking through photographs and teaching with as many people as I can, hoping it brings them as much joy and happiness as it has me. I do this through photoPXL.com, this site, as well as Rockhopper Workshops, and other projects, as well as teaching as Artist In Residence at the Indianapolis Art Center.
