One of my ideas with photoPXL.com is to do things that are different. Michael Durr, one of our video producers, had an idea that it would be interesting content to do videos on some unique Instagramers. I am presuming that as a photographer, you are familiar with Instagram. It seems that Instagram was designed just for photographers, as it is a terrific way to share your photography. I have been using Instagram for years, and it’s provided a chance to share and get feedback on my photography. You can see my Instagram account as well as Michael’s Instagram account by clicking these links.Craig Shimala @cshimala

Michael set out to find exciting Instagramers as well as inspirational ones. Our first vignette is Craig Shimala. Craig is a Chicago based content creator. His personal account, @cshimala, is filled with unique views and experiences from around Chicago. Some of his photos and videos will you leave you scratching your head wondering how he managed to get that shot. In addition to his personal account, Craig also runs @timelapsechicago, which is a collection of time-lapse videos taken all around the city. If you love Chicago or just want to see the city from a new perspective, we encourage you to follow his accounts. Thanks, Craig!

We hope you enjoy this new series. Our next vignette is about one of the most incredible drone pilots we have ever seen. Stay tuned.

Photography is my passion and has been for 50 plus years. My career in photography has allowed me to travel the world, meet some of the most interesting people on the planet and see things I could never have dreamed of. My goal is to share the passion of picture taking through photographs and teaching with as many people as I can, hoping it brings them as much joy and happiness as it has me. I do this through photoPXL.com, this site, as well as Rockhopper Workshops, and other projects, as well as teaching as Artist In Residence at the Indianapolis Art Center.
