Dale, that’s an interesting tutorial.
Andrew, you’re obviously right. Sometimes, though, it’s just not possible. The shot which provoked my query was the one I posted on this site here. It would have been better with a longer, tripod-based exposure but it was a grab shot as we were walking.

in reply to: Sony A7r4 or Fuji GFX 100S for Landscape? #33240Re: Sony A7r4 or Fuji GFX 100S for Landscape?Reply #3 on: January 31, 2021 at 2:32 pmKevin, it’s not quite on topic, but why do you say the A1 will replace only the A9? Doesn’t it (subject to the loss of 10MP) combine the best features of both the A9 and the A7Riv?
What does the A7Riv do that the A1 won’t?
As I’m (still) teetering on the brink of a switch to Sony, I’m curious.

I applied some noise reduction in LR, but I find that SFX Pro, which I used for the conversion, usually adds noise. Dfine gets rid of much of it, but it gets rid of some of the detail as well.
I need to investigate good noise reduction software.

I’ll start another thread with the correct pic.

This was the -2 stop shot of a 3-shot bracket, and it appealed to me more than the others because of the separation between background and berg. It’s possible that my attempts to increase that separation went a little too far, I concede.
This isn’t the first time I’ve bracketed in that way and found the most under-exposed image to be the one that appealed. Curious.
