I need a new task light for evaluating my prints. I don’t know what bulb to look for now that SoLux bulbs are no longer available. What are people using? Suggestions would be welcome.

    Thanks.

5000K bulbs should still be OK for most photo-viewing and evaluation purposes: https://www.google.com/search?client=firefox-b-d&q=5000K+light+bulbs. I don’t have a specific recommendation because I am still working off my small stash of Solux bulbs.

I have e for the last view weeks using the Calibrite lighting for evaluation the prints that I print at home.  You can check it out and order it HERE.  I’ll be putting up an article on it soon.  It’s pretty nice.

Kevin, how robust is the grey surface and is the LAMP color temp displayed?

    Scamazon doesnt say.

Also, check the reviews at B&H

The LEDs from Waveform are pretty good. Not Solux, but nothing is.

The measurement data is here http://digitaldog.net/files/WaveformLEDs.tiff

Solux bulbs can still be found on some online stores, for example:
