Whilst in lockdown and not able to get out I started playing with old images converting them to mono. I have removed almost all of the surrounding detail and concentrated on bringing out the texture and flow in the water. This image from a tiny beck just over 2 miles from home. I like it. I would remove the overlying branch (?) that looks like a boot at the top though.

Thanks Christopher and believe it or not Paul I have never noticed that branch. It looks a lot like a leg hanging over so it will need to go. Ken

Striking. I agree about the boot. I would consider using a luminosity mask to brighten the midtone and darker areas of water a bit, given that your purpose is to highlight the flow. The brightest areas are now pretty bright (L = 85 or so), so I might leave them as is.

I will have a look at this Daniel and see if it improves the image although it could reduce the contrast in the water too much. However this is one of 19 similar images produced for an AV slideshow so I don’t want to change the overall mood too much. Ken

Very nice, simple and it evokes emotion.  Well done.
