Re: Alabama Hills – Eastern Sierra, Sunrise – MoonsetReply #1 on: February 3, 2021 at 8:41 pmThe moon makes the shot. Unfortunately, viewing GFX images on the Internet just doesn’t do them justice. Can’t wait to get my hands on the 100s. My back will thank me.
Re: Alabama Hills – Eastern Sierra, Sunrise – MoonsetReply #2 on: February 3, 2021 at 10:09 pmFine image, Rand. I’m currently looking at this on my phone, which really doesn’t do amy service to the Fuji. I agree with Paul about the moon. If it was my image I’d try removing the clouds in the upper right cornEr, but YMMV!!

The “s” model is enticing, but I could not live w/o the tilt-adapter on my 100. As an “old guy” it has saved me over and over again from contortions I just can’t make anymore! LOL Thanks for the kind word on the photo. I’ll be making a large print of this image tomorrow on my P7570.

Re: Alabama Hills – Eastern Sierra, Sunrise – MoonsetReply #5 on: February 4, 2021 at 10:39 amA very good image. However you processed it, you did a good job of bringing out the contrast between the almost parallel bands.
I think I would also get rid of the clouds in the upper right corner.
Re: Alabama Hills – Eastern Sierra, Sunrise – MoonsetReply #6 on: February 4, 2021 at 2:07 pmA fine image indeed, Rand.

Re: Alabama Hills – Eastern Sierra, Sunrise – MoonsetReply #7 on: February 5, 2021 at 5:04 pmRand, I have looked at this a few times and keep thinking what a crazy cool black and white image it would make. Also, it would make a great print. That would bring out all the great detail you captured.
Re: Alabama Hills – Eastern Sierra, Sunrise – MoonsetReply #8 on: February 9, 2021 at 11:17 amThanks, all. Appreciate the comments. Kevin, I was thinking monochrome, too… but there’s something about the subtle color that calls to me on this one.
However, my “Wild West” shot (taken the same morning) screamed monochrome! Rod Clark and I had 5 perfect days, weather-wise for photography up there.

Re: Alabama Hills – Eastern Sierra, Sunrise – MoonsetReply #11 on: February 15, 2021 at 10:07 amI like them both, but I think the BW is my favorite. I love spending time on the east side.
