Re: YouTube embed testReply #1 on: July 12, 2019 at 4:54 amWell, the test appears to have worked OK
No problems for me when clicking on the square box for full screen.
But, you must have trawled through Phase One’s archive to find that clip, it is quite an old one.

Re: YouTube embed testReply #2 on: July 12, 2019 at 10:52 amFor those who wish to embed off-site files within their posts (as opposed to simply showing the URL) there are certain rules that need to be followed.
1. The host site must use Secure Socket Layer. This means the URL will be ‘https’ as opposed to ‘http’.
2. In order to appear embedded, the URL must be on its own line without additional text
3. The URL must not be hyperlinked. By default, the forum software will automatically make most URL text hyperlinked. That hyperlink must be removed using the broken chain ‘remove link’ function found within the toolbar immediately above the text entry area.

Chris, are these rules now to be considered a permanent feature of the photopxl site with no work-around for those here who wish to embed their work and who don’t have Secure Socket Layer websites?
Thanks
Keith
Re: YouTube embed testReply #5 on: July 14, 2019 at 7:26 amSorry Keith but he answer at this stage must be yes. I should add these are not rules arbitrarily applied by us but ‘features’ of the environment of a WordPress website. Perhaps someone with more than my scant knowledge can offer a work-around.
Chris
