    Printing Colour Management

Just got a new Benq SW2700PT monitor to help me make prints. It has a lot of flexibility and setups. I’ve read a great deal on color management (too much?) and have some sense of what to do. My confusion is with screen brightness and luminance. I know about setting different luminance values based on editing vs printing from soft prints in Photoshop. But it seems to me the luminance value would depend a great deal on where the backlight brightness setting is.

How have you set up your monitors? Thanks for any suggestions.

Are your prints really too dark?

    Display calibration and WYSIWYG

    Proper print viewing conditions

Trouble shooting to get a match

Avoiding kludges that don’t solve the problem
