My 2015 Macbook Pro will not uprgrade to OS 10.13 and should be replaced with something newer to get better performance.  I’ve had such a great run with this machine.  I’m torn between getting an amazing deal on a late 2021 M1 machine or going with a new M3.  Is there much of a performance difference for using Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop?  Also, does one see a boost in performance upgrading from 16 GB RAM to 32 GB RAM?

RAM and especially GPU is a big factor for Adobe app’s like this. My M1 has 64GB of RAM, with raws in the 25MP range. It’s very fast, and I’d expect the M3 to be much more than that.
For example, DeNoise, which is rather intensive, runs on such a raw in 12 seconds.

I don’t expect to upgrade until at least M4 chips are out.
