One of the few hours, during our ten day trip, that some sky actually broke out.

It’s a great beach, with huge potential – and the weather you describe is as Icelandic as it gets, isn’t it?

I like the shot, but for me the most interesting part is the cliffs on the right, with the cloud cascading down: I’ve not seen that effect there before. My inclination, FWIW, would be to remove pretty much everything else.

Great image. But I also think Jeremy’s suggestion could result in a fantastic crop.

I don’t agree. The composition of the picture is excellent. If you chop out the left side you end up with something that might be interesting to someone who’s been there and hasn’t seen the fog slide down the hills, but to everyone else a sort of “ho hum” scene.

    One doesn’t exclude the other.

Thanks guys. I’m not a cropper by nature, but now that I’ve cropped it, I like it both ways. And Jeremy, our Icelandic guide, who’s lived there all his life said he had never seen the clouds do that as well, so I felt privileged.

I think that’s a cracking shot now, Paul. The absence of the stacks mean that it’s no longer immediately identifiable as of one particular beach but, IMHO, that’s supremely unimportant. All the stacks did was to add identification.

I agree it’s a cracking shot, but it’s not what Paul framed.
