Driving by a five mile long field of commercial Sunflowers in North Dakota.
Wet weather prevented harvest on time. Massive fields of the flowers as well as Corn still standing. Unless we get sub zero temperatures quickly so the ground gets solid enough for combines and grain trucks these fields won’t be harvested until spring. A lot of sunflowers grown in North Dakota – the #1 producer in the US.
I like the stark look of the fields when the first snow or two hits. Like it even better when the neighbors can get the crops in so all of us do well.
"A good still photograph, studied by an inquiring mind, frequently yields more information than a mile of moving images". Walter Cronkite, New York, June 1989

Re: Flowers in the snowReply #1 on: December 9, 2019 at 11:40 pmA very different kind of look. I needed to stop and try to figure it out. This must be a sight to behold in color when they are in bloom.
