    Thanks Paul. This was in 2012 when there was a fire that was deliberately started in Waldo Canyon, just west of Manitou Springs that threatened the town. We evacuated and spent the night at one of our our sons’ home. This was late afternoon as the sun was heading down through the smoke.

    Wow. As in arson or deliberately set burn by rangers?

    When I last checked, this is what the Colorado Springs Gazette had to say about it:

    …killed two people, destroyed 347 houses, amassed nearly $454 million in insured losses, scorched 18,247 acres and cost $15.3 million in firefighting efforts. It took crews 17 days to contain the devastating blaze.

    The police are sure it was started by a human, but they haven’t been able to find out who the culprit was.
