Fall feeding

    The geese are migrating from Canada to points South. North Dakota fields offer food and secure rest stops.

    It is Goose hunting season as they come through but the groups are so big and the area wide open that few are taken by hunters.

    The group in this field was almost a half mile long and a few hundred yards deep when I took the photograph. As I watched more and more

    came in. Noisy geese in masses are a lot of fun to watch as well as photograph. The whole field erupted as a Bald Eagle cruised over.

    The big V’s of them flying at times area over a mile long. They come through spring and fall and it is quite a show.
