<p>I understand with the latest update, the PRO-1000 can print on 17×25 inch paper (up from 17×22). With this new capability, where can I find such sizes? I have only found Red River to be a supplier. Others? Has anyone good/bad/indifferent experience to report?</p>

AFAIK, the brands I primarily use–Breathing Color, Canson, and Moab–don’t offer it, at least in the specific papers I’ve used.

Easy enough to buy 17″ wide rolls of paper and to cut it yourself.

Indeed. The Pro 1000, which I use also, doesn’t accept rolls, and my limited experience is that the feed mechanism–which is pretty much flawless with flat paper–can’t handle curled papers well. The one time I tried, I couldn’t get the pieces flat enough to avoid some head strikes. Then again, that was with a very thick, stiff paper. It might be feasible to flatten some papers enough.

I have successfully printed on long sheets on both an Epson 3880 and now a Pro-1000.  I cut the paper to the correct lengthy with a Rotatrim and then gently roll it against the curl on a four inch mailing tube to straighten it.  This seems to work well as long as you are careful in the rolling process not to scratch the ink receptor surface.

I wondered about that Alan. I’d heard somewhere that it might be possible to print longer than 25″ but no specifics. How far have you gone in terms of length? Do you believe 16×32 or 16×48 would be possible?

The firmware update that came out in 2019 will allow printing up to 47.5 inches long.
