    I think you should buy yourself a long lens, Russ. Looks to me as if you’d make good use of it.

    Hi Jeremy, I’ve seriously considered going to a 600mm lens for my morning walk. Problem is, I often need the 70mm end of the 70-300. “Another View of Dawn,” which I posted this morning is an example. 70mm wasn’t really wide enough for the picture. I had to step back to include the trees on either side. 600 would be marvelous when I’m on the dock, shooting airborne Ospreys, but that’s just part of the story. At 93 I’m not going to be able to carry two cameras as I used to do in Korea when I was 23. So it comes down to the 70-300 compromise, which isn’t a particularly good lens in any case.
