    You’re right, Jeremy. Is this better? I’m not sure. I kind of like the extension on the right to what amounts to nothing. I’d ask Friedlander if I could.Crop

    Interesting! I would not have originally thought so, but I like what the out-of-focus bar does.

    That vertical shape in foreground gives a more other-worldly feel to the photograph; somehow the viewer doesn’t quite belong. It is more mysterious and thus more interesting. Without the bar, it is just a photograph of an intriguing object.

    I’m not sure what it is, Jeremy. I suspect it’s a light. We were in a restaurant on the shore of Florida’s Lake Harris. Boats moored in slots behind that fence, and probably needed the light after dark.
