    Capture One

As I’m sure everyone knows, there are billions of video tutorials out there, of varying quality. I’m still learning my way around Capture One (now 20, or 13, depending on which numbers you look at) and appreciate David Grover’s tutorials very much, but I recently discovered Scott Williams’ work. He has tutorials on both Capture One and Affinity Photo, another program I’m wrapping my gray head around. He even has a couple on Luminar. I find his instruction style very forthright and very helpful. FWIW: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t_KlWLc1ESQ

Thanks, Mike – that was a cool video.  I’ve been using Luma masks for several things, but mostly for isolating regions, like the sky in landscapes.  This video opened up a whole new technique using broad soft transitions in the luma mask.  I’ll have to watch more of Williams’ stuff.

Works for landscapes too. Ansel may have been on to something after all… 😉
