I love it, Rand. I’d like to see a larger version. My first thoughts are that the river in the foreground, which is pretty mist-free, detracts from the gloom and foggy nature of the rest, and I think the image would be better without it.

    Just a thought.

    Jeremy,

Thanks!  I tried a tighter from the bottom crop and didn’t like it.  I lost my “ducks” and it lost the sense of deep mood that I felt while standing there, living this moment.  I made a 40″ wide print and it is beautiful…. low key, and mysterious.  It’s going on the wall.  This is a color print, by the way.  There are very deep, but very subtle colors in the image.  Deep-almost-black greens, some warm-from-the-rising-sun tones in the middle and some almost indigo blue fog and clouds.   This is one of those times I’ve allowed myself to take an image to exactly what it felt like standing there – histogram be damned.  🙂

Nicely done. I can see Jeremy’s point of maybe knocking 1/8 off the bottom, but it’s a fine image as it is.

    Mike.
