Having nothing much to do during this Covid twilight, I looked thru old pictures and found this from Pere Lachais cemetery. I don’t think I’ve posted it anywhere before, but given

my memory, who knows? It was taken with a Nikon 990, my first camera since age 12, purchased for the trip.

    Regards,

    Dale

    Thank you, gentlemen.

As an aside, the subject is my wife. She thought the image was creepy.

There are certainly a lot of mental associations that can be made, depending on how one feels about life, death and cemeteries in general. Here in Canada at least cemeteries tend to look more like parks. In Victoria, Ross Bay cemetery is a great place to photograph in the fall because of all of the different leaf colours.

I remember an image I made (from  a distance) at the cemetery in Kelowna, BC of an old man sitting in a lawn chair, umbrella to keep off the sun, having a (presumably) weekly conversation with someone unseen but still very much present, at least to him.

    Mike.

Speaking of cemeteries I an about to publish an article on the Punta Arenas Cemetary,  This was a cemetery we visited on the way to Antarctica and is loaded with photographs as well as a video.  Should have in ready in a few days with some other cool content.
