I’ve recently been using a software called Neofinder to establish the paperless office in a stable manner. A few years ago I was still using the software under the name CDFinder to catalog my CDs (music and data). With the decreasing importance of CDs, I had also lost sight of the program that is now called NeoFinder and runs under macOS. Now I use it to manage and search for PDF files of all kinds that are provided with metadata via Vuescan (OCR), among other things. Filters can be defined with so-called smart folders, which can also be grouped. The search is very quick with this, but also with the search function. Interestingly, the software can also handle photo files, which I haven’t used yet, nor tested, but might try later.

What is exciting is that the software is also available under the name abeMeda as a Windows version and both versions can work together with the same data via network resources, which we have implemented here.
