I edited the image this morning in bright sunlight flooding the room, resulting in the somewhat too bright and colour-saturated first version.
This second version matches my memory better:

I think I prefer the first. The fact that the moon is bright enough to seem to be the sun, combined with the cold colour palette, gives it an eerie feel. The second looks a bit too dark.

Thanks for your feedback, Jeremy. The second is closer to my memory of lighting and colours. The first one is possibly indeed the more interesting version.

    Best regards,

First version (more or less) with a gradient mask applied to the sky, dialing the full image exposure lift back down.

The white bush directly in line with the moon now stands out very nicely. I think I liked it better with the path a bit brighter, as in v1, but it’s purely taste.

Good suggestion, only the path a bit brighter. Otherwise the proof will be in the pudding. I think I’ll print this on the Hahnemühle Photo Cards along with other images made in Mittelbachtal.
