©2020 Daniel A Smith Coot on a barbed wire fence

Water was higher when the coot got caught on the barbed wire fence. Overcast skies from the massive fires on the West Coast have our skies a monochrome blanket that leaves reflections flat. A quiet morning with no breeze made for flat mirror water surfaces.

Yes, there is only one wire strand and coot in the image.

Not likely going to be a popular image, but well done. As a mostly retired biologist type, I can create my own story around it.
