Please comment on the best ways to get low-latency sidetone at the appropriate level. I haven’t solved this, and I usually operate with no sidetone at all, which, with the over-the-ear headphones I need because of my hearing aids, is pretty bad.

Is there a way to solve this short of a preamp and a mixer?

I figured a way to get the sidetone right. I got a Blue USB mike with a built-in low-latency speaker amplifier and plugged the headphones into that.
