We have had an actual Blizzard over the past 30 hours. 35mph and higher for a minimum of 3 hours with blowing and drifting snow. Winter storm and severe winter storm and then the Blizzard and more than a day of blizzard conditions. Some nice weather for images but a bit difficult to get around even with 4WD and winter tires.

Schools and businesses closed. Highways closed. Travel restrictions in effect on some of the other roads.

We don’t really get a lot of snow over the winter generally. So far this storm has matched the whole of last winter for snow depth but way short of real Winter cold. That sub zero is coming and the weeks of 15-20 below as the high are on the way. This set of storms are relatively warm with 25 above being the norm. Wind chill isn’t even below zero, so not bad at all.

The image is a place that burned last summer. House and belongings gone. The Hoop and garage still there. Two blocks from the Volunteer Fire Dept but the fire was fast and hot with the house a complete loss. Winter snow covers a lot.

"A good still photograph, studied by an inquiring mind, frequently yields more information than a mile of moving images". Walter Cronkite, New York, June 1989
