Verde Valley, Arizona, with fantastic storm action. LR merge of two images.

Fantastic centre. I appreciate the need for contrast, but I can’t help wondering if the upper part isn’t a little too dark. It’s hard to see any detail at all.

Or maybe the problem is with my eyes.

I seemed to lose a little detail with the sRGB/jpeg compression I use, but I have been experimenting with images that have some really dark areas after watching Alister Benn’s videos and I do like the subtlety. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with you eyes, Jeremy, you just prefer things to be a little brighter! As you know, I usually do tend to go dark and contrasty. 😉

PS The white bkg of this site also doesn’t help; if you left click on the image it will show on dark gray and you can see much more detail in the sky. I do my PP on dark medium bkg in LR.

Great clouds. My first thought was similar to Jeremy’s, but it’s your image!

    Mike.

    P. S. Saw the title Black Hills and thought we were in SD…

Thanks, Mike. Yes, I do like ambiguity, but this was in AZ.
