Congratulations to Steve Gosling for an exceptional article and the imagery to go with it. A refreshing change from the banalities written on photographic forums. The ‘Free Bird’ image is one for the ages.

Strong inspiring images and essay. The piece as a whole is ‘one for the ages’ and I shall return to it often. Thank you Steve Gosling.

Thank you Chris. As I said in the article, I was reluctant to share these images and the very personal motivations behind them but comments like yours make me glad that I did.

I glanced at this article when it was first posted and thought that I needed to set aside some time to appreciate it properly. It’s only just now that I have finally found that time, and I regret not doing it sooner. Evocative writing and some really good images, Steve. I particularly like the cutlery!

Hi Jeremy – thank you very much for reading the article and for your very positive comments. Glad you like the fork photo – I’ve surprised myself with what I’ve been able to find to shoot when I’ve had to.
