Lathe Arch, Alabama Hills, CA

September 2, 2019

Lathe Arch is almost at ground level so that I had to clamber down into a crevice to set up this shot–not much room to move. Dawn brought the alpenglow to the Mt. Whitney Range with small pieces of the Alabama Hills in the foreground. Lone Pine Peak, slightly to left of center, is the range’s most prominent feature; Mt. Whitney itself is just to right of center, looking smaller because it is further in the background.

Very captivating image. Makes me wonder about the rest of the arch.
