    Harvey,

I enjoyed your photos and article.  Thank you for the article.  (now comes the BUT).       But I’m afraid that you got your Lake Erie/Ontario and Niagara River locations and flow backwards.  Niagara River flows OUT of Lake Erie at Buffalo NY and flows north into Lake Ontario.  More or less half way between the lakes the River splits and flows over Niagara Falls forming two separate falls – The American Falls which is entirely in the US and the Horseshoe Falls which spans the international boundary, and therefore has a small part in the US and a larger part in Canada.

I was born and raised in Niagara Falls NY.

    Brad

    Kevin,

I must be missing something.   Quotes from your Article…..”This camera has changed everything”…….. “will revolutionize cameras forever”……….”the shutters can last forever“.   As I understand what this tech can do, I don’t see how it would impact my photography or that of many other photographers.  I am almost entirely a landscape and still life photographer.  No fast moving subjects like birds or wildlife or sports.  In fact, I very rarely shoot bursts.  And since the advent of digital, I’ve never come close to “wearing out” a shutter because I end up doing body upgrades every 5 or 6 years for better tech that’ll help my photography.  So, other than it improving some of the images from wildlife or sports centric photographers, what does a landsape/still life photgrapher get from this tech that “has changed everything” for them?

I bought a MacStudio M1 Max a little over a year ago. 32Gb, 1Tb internal SSD with Applications, System and Catalog. About 40,000 images on external 2Tb SSD. Files are 20Mp. I use LR 95% of the time with a sprinkling of PS.

Everything seems to be almost instantaneous. For me, spending more than what I did would have been a waste of $.

Kevin, my thoughts regarding why many photographers don’t print……I tend to think it is an available time thing or they’ve come to photography in the smartphone/tablet era when that was the way most newcomers would have seen photography.  I think the least likely cause for your workshop attendees would be cost.  If they can afford your (or most any other workshop) and their full frame cameras/pro grade lenses, etc, they can afford a $1,000 printer and paper.    And I agree with your premise……it isn’t really a photograph until it is printed.  Today in the digital age, until it is printed, it is only a bunch of excited electrons.
