Thanks! There’s also a new driver for the Pro-100 series.

Clicking “Print” leads to the disaster reported above where a member finds wrongly profiled prints. I never trust print programs shielding the printer driver. I found this issue by using “Printer” which loads the printer driver and found out that even that loads the wrong info into my user-set printer driver preset. Those Lr templates are nannies no one used to make photo prints should trust. The printer driver control window is straightforward and it has its own user-set presets.

So yes, I can imagine the wasted ink and paper of someone trusting Lr and pushing Print.

It seems that Lightroom (and other Adobe apps) keep some cache of driver settings.

That’s kind of what I’ve been trying to explain about LR and the templates. It’s not quite the case with say Photoshop. All the configurations inside the Print dialog can be saved with the actual document but the driver settings are not unlike LR.

Right! I know about the Templates, but the Printer control calls the printer driver directly… or does it? perhaps it calls first a cached version and currently that cached version does not reflect the driver Presets set by the user.

Beware that Lr 9.1 (and probably previous versions) assigns wrong values to the print presets. My default preset has a given print quality and paper type, but when I check the printer settings (and the default preset is selected) a different print quality and a different paper are selected. If I manually make corrections the output is fine.

This is a new bug and it is hard to understand that such a basic section of the program was changed/broken.

Happens to me too. I’m running macOS 10.15.2 and printer driver is 21.10 for a Canon Pro-1000. Observed in both LR 9.0 and 9.1. Reinstall of Canon driver is no help. Also I’m seeing wrong/significantly different colours rendered than normal when printing (both through ICC color management and when printing profiling targets without colormanagement through ACPU). Could be a bug with Canon drivers and macOS 10.15. Critical for me. Where to notify Canon?

I do not think it is a Canon problem. I can print to the same Canon printer driver from several other apps and all is well. The issue only happens via Adobe apps.

There is a workaround in Lightroom:

    – In Lr’s Print Modules click on Printer on the lower right corner. The printer driver dialog window is displayed.

    – Click ‘Quality and Media’ on the third drop-down menu. The ‘memorized’ and wrong info with the Platinum paper profile shows.

    – Double-click the named Preset in the Presets drop-down menu second from the top. You will see that the proper settings for paper and quality are now in place (in my case Pro Luster and High). See attached images.

    Print confidently.

It seems that Lightroom (and other Adobe apps) keep some cache of driver settings.
