Great photograph! I would leave the gease where they are. They were there in reality, and they contrast nicely against the mist on the water, not reaching into the trees on the islands.
in reply to: Capture One’s NEW License Options (Terrible) #66469Re: Capture One’s NEW License Options (Terrible)Reply #1 on: January 20, 2023 at 7:19 amSo Axcel purchased a 56% stake in Phase One back in 2019 from Silverfleet. In 2020, Axcel made Capture One a separate company. There are expectations that Axcel will also divest that share again the foreseeable future. That’s my understanding, and please correct me if that’s wrong. Maybe someone really interested in long-standing and loyal customer relationships will take it over?
Then, there is supposed to be an interview with the Capture One CEO Rafael Orta in early February, right? I hope that won’t be just a load of incomprehensible marketing fluff but address strategy, roadmap etc.

on one hand, “Buy now” may generate a bit of income. No further details there. But in their mission statement they also say:
No ads.
We made our business model subscription-based so we could be free of ads, making our users our customers.
So as you suggested, users will likely be charged sooner or later. Fair enough. No fees visible yet.
Best regards,
Erik
