Couldn’t leave Venice without at least one gondola shot! Thoughts?

A little tight on the left side but classic Venice and I agree you shouldn’t leave without one. I think a shallower DOF would have been a nice variant, to isolate the gondola a bit from the background.

It is, yes: I cropped off a very ugly boat. DoF: good point.

Was this taken with a long focal length lens? The foreground, background and the main subject seem all compressed in the same plane. The Gondolier takes the word cliche out of the title …. more like globalized Venice.

It was taken with a Sony RX10iv. The recorded focal length is 81mm; I think the 35mm equivalent would be around 230mm.
