The Rush, Western Grebe mating behavior ©2020 Daniel A Smith

Western Grebes put on quite a show during mating season. Challenging each other they jump up and run across the water. The behavior can be seen most any time of day but seems to slow a lot after early morning. Makes it nice for early morning light on subjects with feathers from deep black to pure white – at times a challenge for film or pixels depending on light intensity.

I put the image here as there is not a section for wildlife/animal images.

"A good still photograph, studied by an inquiring mind, frequently yields more information than a mile of moving images". Walter Cronkite, New York, June 1989

Nicely done. The Western Grebes have a beautiful dance.
