    About This Site
    on: May 20, 2021 at 9:10 am

Hello … and thank you for being part of photoPXL.

Today we are moving photoPXL.com to version 2. There a few things that will be changing over the coming hours. For example, you can’t make posts in the forum the normal way. You need to use the text mode. We will get this fixed.

We are beginning a membership site. First and foremost PXL is free. Everyone can read the site as they read it now. In version 2 we have added a number of benefits like double (retina) resolution for images. Also, you can now click on images in articles and see them much bigger and you can click again to enlarger further and navigate around to see more detail. Many articles from the last few months have already been prepared for this. We feel like a photo site you should be able to see images larger and clearer.

There is a dark (night) mode if you want to switch things around to have white type on a dark background. You will also have more images in your gallery area and we hope you take advantage of that more. There will also be more things you can do with your account and visibility.

If you like things the way they are now then nothing changes. Each membership level will have other benefits with more being added as we work through a few things. We have will discounts and a number of other things that will add more benefits to being a paid member. Details on these will be announced over the coming days and weeks.

For all of our readers who have contributed to photoPXL, we want to thank you. For readers who have contributed $50 USD or more in the last six months, you will be moved up to the Silver Membership level. For those readers that have contributed more than $100 USD in the last six months your account will be converted to the Gold membership status.

We will need a few days to work through the process so please be patient.

Now that we are coming out of the pandemic we have a lot of things planned. As things fall into place I’ll share these with you. We will endeavor to support our readers and give you the best content available for a photography website.

Thanks very much to the PXL team and especially to you, our readers and supporters.
