I am so happy to announce we have published an article by Alain Briot. His article Creating Artistic Photographs – Variation On RAW File explores how you can change the look of images using a RAW processor. We’re happy to have Alain with us and you can expect to see his work here on a regular basis. Thanks, Alain!

The original is flat so this works. The technique, I am sure is pretty easy to achieve in either Lightroom or Photoshop, using gradients with very soft overlapping edges and Color Fill with a suitable Blend Mode for Ps.

DaveHi Dave,
The color changes were done in Photoshop. I thought I mentioned it in the essay but I may have left it out. Eventually it is not about how I made the color changes but why, so that’s the reason I did not go into processing. I wanted to focus on the artistic aspect rather than the technical.
Thank you everyone for your positive comments. I very much appreciate it. I look forward to publishing many more essays on PhotoPXL! We are off to a good start!
