Forum & Site UI: Bugs, Features & Comments
    on: August 18, 2019 at 6:18 pm

It looks like there is no way to edit the attachments list on a post, while editing the post itself? One can add attachments, but not delete them, so when you notice that sensor dust a little too late, you can’t easily remove the offending file, just add a new one.

Is there a way to outright delete a post of thread that I am missing?

Finally, the list of Active and Recently Active users gives supposedly clickable names, but if someone has a user/login ID of, say, bdobbs, and a full name of Bob Dobbs, this happens:

    – the list shows Bob Dobbs
    – the clickable link appears to be built not from “bdobbs” but from “Bob Dobbs” so when you click on it…
    – the link turns out http://whatever/etc/so-on/Bob%20Dobbs
    – which is wrong!

Andrew.  I’ll look into this.  I will do a test post later.  You can supposedly edit a post or trash a post in the upper right gray bar of the post itself.  As far as attachments you should be able to delete.  I’ll check into that too and if it doesn’t work I’ll pass it on to our developers.

I’ll check on the list of active and recently active names.  I know there were a few bugs there still.  I’ll have our team look at that too.

Thanks.  Your second article has been posted.

I can clearly delete an image after a post as well as before s post.  See attached. You can also trash or remove s post.

I am wondering if those features are only available to Admin users?

Yes, although there is the ability to ‘Edit’ by adding or deleting text, there is no option for a ‘Participant’ to simply remove the post. Neither is there the option to remove the attachment. Those are all ‘KeyMaster’-only functions.

Let’s discuss this on our next call.  Some things should be in there for users to use at least for their own posts.

Sometimes when I log on and click on My Account I get a full list of articles and forum posts started since my last visit.  Then again sometimes I don’t even when there are new forum posts.  Is this feature still under development?

    Dave . . .

Yes, you should see those upon login.  Sometimes there isn’t anything that qualifies.  We are still testing the integrity of this feature so it may improve.  Also, did you know that if you click on the bigger box in the upper right corner you can see all your activity?

Also, we are working on and should have these new features in short order.  Forum pagination that will prevent you from scrolling all over the place.  Also, we will be changing the Forum menu bar soon to allow you all sort of options to view the forum.  Like new posts since last login and topics by freshness which essentially presents the topics in order by newest first.  You should see these soon and I’ll post here when they are live.

Feel free to contact us with any suggestions.  We are always working on something new.

If you write a post, attach some files, and insert those files in to the text..

… but forget to set a title, you get an error “You need to set the title” or whatever the exact text is.

… and your attachments are gone 😉

I have joined the site.  When I go to the site, it doesn’t recognize me and I have to manually login.  Can the site recognize me and automatically log me in?  If not, this would be a very good update for the site.  (And if this has been previously asked and answered, sorry, but I missed it)

Brad, I get a little checkbox when I log in. Below and a little to the left of the password box, I think, labeled something like “Remember Me”

If you check that box before you log in, it should provide at least some of the behavior you’re looking for, I think.

First, you can browse and use the site without logging in.  You can’t post on the forum or load images for the community or see. activity related to you on the forum unless you log in.  Like you, if I sign out I have t login.  I use the trick Andrew says but also use a password save program that automatically logs me in with one click.

When you log in and click on the upper right box you can see everything related to you.
