    Forum & Site UI: Bugs, Features & Comments

    Yes, that is ‘normal’ in this forum software. And also odd and rather confusing.
    To avoid this, one needs to go back to the top home level.

    Hi Chris, good to know it’s actually a bug in their software. Until they fix it, may be useful to post a notice at the top of the Forum saying something like “When finished with a thread please revert to Forum Home before accessing your next thread as the Forum needs to refresh”.

    Thanks Mark! I am going to create a more formal Forum Help page accessible via the Help item next to the Forums Home link above and will include some navigation instruction there.

    So pleased to see Mark, Chris, Kevin, Andrew and so many others working hard to iron out the kinks and get the forum up to speed!  I will contribute whatever I am able to fulfill it’s promise as a vibrant photographic community!

    Thanks, Ralph.  We are in our early days and it is exciting to be back.  There are a few things we are still working on that will make the forum a bit easier to use.  The team is working on them and hopefully, you’ll notice changes as we go.  Good to have you onboard.

    I think some forum navigation enhancements would be helpful.  LuLa got these right:

    1. Go to bottom of page (from top);
    2. Go to top of page (from bottom);
    3. Forum hierarchy path with ability to move to higher level (from both top and bottom).

    Also, I think a per-session configuration option to change the font size would be useful—preferably with different selections for whatever different types of browsers your server-side software recognizes: e.g., desktop, large mobile (tablet), small mobile (phone).

    Thanks Chris,  we have a list that these will be added to. Chris, and the developers are working on what solutions are available and what we will have to program ourselves.  I am thinking of doing a monthly update as an article so readers know what we are working on.

    Great to have you here.

    Forums  Freshness Column.

    Finding it somewhat difficult to quickly check the status, latest posting, of the categories.

    Would it be easier if it just stated that there had been an update, with time,  instead of stating the topic, name of person etc.  ?

    Yes, I agree. There seems to be too much information for a narrow column.
    Forum navigation is working its way up the list of the site’s To Do list.
    I believe we are getting closer to implementing a series of forum search options that include: new posts since last visit, new posts in past 24 hours etc. Here’s hoping.
