Yes, that is ‘normal’ in this forum software. And also odd and rather confusing.
To avoid this, one needs to go back to the top home level.Re: Forum & Site UI: Bugs, Features & CommentsReply #1 on: July 11, 2019 at 7:37 amHi Chris, good to know it’s actually a bug in their software. Until they fix it, may be useful to post a notice at the top of the Forum saying something like “When finished with a thread please revert to Forum Home before accessing your next thread as the Forum needs to refresh”.

Re: Forum & Site UI: Bugs, Features & CommentsReply #7 on: July 15, 2019 at 5:13 pmThanks, Ralph. We are in our early days and it is exciting to be back. There are a few things we are still working on that will make the forum a bit easier to use. The team is working on them and hopefully, you’ll notice changes as we go. Good to have you onboard.
Re: Forum & Site UI: Bugs, Features & CommentsReply #8 on: July 16, 2019 at 9:26 pmI think some forum navigation enhancements would be helpful. LuLa got these right:
- Go to bottom of page (from top);
- Go to top of page (from bottom);
- Forum hierarchy path with ability to move to higher level (from both top and bottom).
Also, I think a per-session configuration option to change the font size would be useful—preferably with different selections for whatever different types of browsers your server-side software recognizes: e.g., desktop, large mobile (tablet), small mobile (phone).

Chris, and the developers are working on what solutions are available and what we will have to program ourselves. I am thinking of doing a monthly update as an article so readers know what we are working on.
Great to have you here.
Re: Forum & Site UI: Bugs, Features & CommentsReply #10 on: July 24, 2019 at 6:26 amForums Freshness Column.
Finding it somewhat difficult to quickly check the status, latest posting, of the categories.
Would it be easier if it just stated that there had been an update, with time, instead of stating the topic, name of person etc. ?

Forum navigation is working its way up the list of the site’s To Do list.
I believe we are getting closer to implementing a series of forum search options that include: new posts since last visit, new posts in past 24 hours etc. Here’s hoping.
