This one is a bit different. Taken during a Joshua Tree NP sunrise in and amid the cholla trees. I had thorns all over my books from these trees. Once finished here it took my weatherman tool to successfully remove them all. A wide angle lens allowed me to get close to this tree so as to hide the sun behind it. Just a glorious sunrise that morning making you glad you got up at an ungodly hour in order to position yourself before the morning event of sunrise

A beautiful place to be. Haven’t been there in 25 years, but it’s just across the pond from us.
Mike.

Taken in Ireland in the middle of nowhere. They call it Black Valley. The boat appealed to me with its diagonal position with its rope to nowhere. I liked the stillness of the lake in the background with hills own not sides. The reflection of the right hill did not hurt. I like the rope positioned at an angle toward the lower left of the image.

This capture was in Bodies, CA which is a very well preserved ghost town since it is maintained by the State of California. Word has it that the founder of Bodie died while on a supply trip when he and his team of horses got caught in a fierce winter storm and perished en route. This location is quite high up in altitude at 8300+ ft (2500+meters) and some of the journey up to Bodie crosses vast plains which I imagine are perfect for high winds. It has a vast number of well preserved buildings of which this was not one. However, the unusual and deep shadows if he overhanging roof slats drew me to capture this image with a Leica Monochrom1.

Definitely worth a return trip.

This was taken in Sequoia NP while many wild fires are occurring throughout CA. The smoke in the valleys helped create the mood of this image taken at sunset with my Alpa STC/Phase IQ3100/S-K150 at base ISO.
The bluish, smokey valley to me is what created the mood with some hills in the distance since a sunset is a sunset. I did like the suggestion of dead trees with the trees silhouettes on the right side.
