    Took me a second to realize it was a reflection, which I assume is the point. I like the concept but the composition isn’t working for me. Maybe a square?Untitled-1

    I find this very appealing, but the heavier tree trunks at left were dominating my eye. You, of course, may think differently (see attached). Now my eye roves the entire image and the subtle ripples seem more evident and I find it more restful. Easy to get into trouble with these kinds of recommendations concerning personal taste.

    Interesting. I post photos here to invite comment and criticism, so I’m keen to hear what people have to say. I take the point about the heavy trunks on the left: I saw them as a starting point for a left-to-right scan but I suppose they can dominate. I prefer David’s suggested crop to Paul’s; de gustibus
