If you have an old Apple Cinema Display and would like to use it as a second or third display with your 2021 MacBook Pro (M1), this is what you need. It works like a champ. So don’t pitch that old Cinema Display. This adapter does not transmit HDCP signals and works with older Apple Cinema Monitors without HDCP support. Whatever that means! All I know is I do all my corrections in Lightroom on my Eizo CG247X-BK  monitor while the Lightroom catalogs and slider windows are on the Cinema Display with the MacBook in clamshell mode. Very handy. Highly recommended. If I am just browsing the internet using my MacBook, I unplug the Cinema Display and just use the Eizo with the MacBook also in clamshell mode. Highly recommended. $40 solution to not junk that old Cinema Display. By the way, the new MacBook Pro interfaces are plentiful and well received. HDMI to the Eizo. And the SD card slot returned. Hooray. I still use an OWC thunderbolt dock for peripherals and older external hard drives.  Works great.
