Conversation With Juliana Chyzhova From Skylum Software
Sklyum Luminar Neo

If you are a photographer, you have surely heard of Skylum Software’s Luminar Neo. Skylum has been around for a while now and its latest software for photographers is Neo. It has grown over the years from other Skylum products to the newest version called Neo.
This software makes editing your image files easy. And it does an outstanding job at it. It accomplishes this task from a variety if presets and the use of AI. Skylum was one pioneer of AI technology in photography and its product uses AI well and allows the user to determine just how far to take it.

Neo is not like Lightroom, Capture One or Photoshop. It separates itself and doing so smartly as it aims at the casual photographer. This is the program that can help the weekend photographer or occasional shooter make brilliant images. Its presets do a great job of getting your image in the ballpark if not knocking it out of the park.

You then can switch over to a huge list of specialty editing tools that allow you to replace skies, HDR merge, focus stack, pano stitch, upscale, retouch portraits, sharpen and reduce noise and a lot more.
There is so much to Skylum’s Luminar Neo that it would take several articles and video tutorials to show everything that Neo can do. I look forward to doing a complete tour in the future.
My Conversation With Juliana Chyzhova – CMO of Skylum
To get to know more about Skylum, I had an interview with their Chief Marketing Officer, Juliana Chyzhova. We had a great conversation which I hope you enjoy. Keep in mind that Skylum is an Ukranian company and we cover this in the video. Juliana is presently living in Portugal. Kiev, Ukraine is where many of the Skylum team are based.
I hope you enjoy this video interview.
Closing Words
While many of are set in our ways using Lightroom and Capture One other will find that Luminar Neo works just fine for them. It is super simple to use and very intuitive. There are plug-ins for Lightroom and Capture One so if you need to, it is easy to round trip your images into Neo and use the tools in Neo, like sky replacement and facial retouching and then return to Lightroom.
There are a variety of pricing plans available depending on what you need as far as features. Luminar Neo, in my opinion, is a no brainer when it comes to a must have editing tool. You can find out more HERE.

Photography is my passion and has been for 50 plus years. My career in photography has allowed me to travel the world, meet some of the most interesting people on the planet and see things I could never have dreamed of. My goal is to share the passion of picture taking through photographs and teaching with as many people as I can, hoping it brings them as much joy and happiness as it has me. I do this through photoPXL.com, this site, as well as Rockhopper Workshops, and other projects, as well as teaching as Artist In Residence at the Indianapolis Art Center.
